Yes, we are all know that our industry is in the difficult position now by two main reasons:
- pandemic lockdown drops the box-office back to 80’s! Year 2023 is still 22% less than Year 2019.
- people started to view much more shows on streaming platforms during the lockdown.
IN:MOVIE aims to rejuvenate the cinema experience and surpass previous box-office peaks!

TO CREATORS
Creating a non-linear story for a movie is like creating a computer game. Here’s what you need to consider creating such content:
1. Analysis of the structure of history:
a. Analyze your story in terms of possible ramifications: Is your story compatible with a non-linear narrative in principle? What does it give in terms of the development of your history?
b. Define the different types of branching paths (going back, creating a new branch of the narrative, moving forward in the narrative with skipping some events etc.) and their potential consequences.
2. Preliminary development:
a. Describe the structure of the film, which reveals the key points of the plot, characters and general story arcs.
b. Decide how many alternative endings your movie will have. Do not make them a lot, both in terms of budget and the difficulty of writing a story. Usually, two or three will be enough.
c. Define the plot development options and how they will interact with each other. Identify decision points that allow viewers to make choices that affect the development and direction of the narrative.
3. Writing a story:
a. Develop multiple endings that allow viewers to see their movie finale based on their decisions.
b. Develop a narrative that intertwines the different elements of the plot.
c. Ensure that these options are consistent with each other, the underlying plot logic and the overall narrative.
d. Create branching points in the emotional and troubling moments of the story that will involve the viewers more in the selection process.
e. Provide the viewer with feedback on their choice, helping them understand the impact of their decisions on the development of the story.
f. Consider having characters in different event variants operate in the same locations. Branching also should not produce an infinite number of new heroes. The project will be more expensive than a regular movie any way.
4. Creating the need to revise the film:
a. DO NOT DECEIVE THE VIEWER IN THE MAIN! He must watch an interesting movie, no matter how many and what choices he will do during the viewing.
b. Offer the viewer a story in which he will want to revise his decisions to explore different endings. Lure him in in an unusual way.
c. Encourage viewers to become apologists for one or the other ending - this will create a fan base either for the sequels of the film or for an expanded version of the project for the video platform.
d. Think about adding additional content, such as secret areas or side quests, to give viewers more opportunities for creativity, involvement in the project.

Transforming the DCP mastering process involves a few key steps:
- Organize video sequences and gather time-codes for start and end points.
- Create DCP file from sequence as usual.
- Generate a specialized file in JSON or YAML format, outlining voting points and corresponding time-codes.
- Upload this file to the Management Server.
Though it may sound complex, implementing these changes is more straightforward than it seems. We are ready give you more specific details of this process.
Of course, you need IN:MOVIE®️ system, which contains three main components:
- IN:MOVIE cell phone application (iOS, Android).
(we can exclude it by using dynamic HTML5 page for each show) - IN:MOVIE CONNECTOR software installed on any computer (laptop/mini-PC/Mac). It should be connected to DCP player and to Internet.
- IN:MOVIE CORE CONTROL SYSTEM consisting of:
- SERVER - heart of the system, that control all components), and
- MESAGE BROKER - service software to connect all components to each other.
At the moment we have working MVP (Minimum Value Product) and plan to finish developing a final version in a half of year.
All system components use SSL/TLS encryption of all transferring information.
TO CINEMAS
There is almost nothing to do:
- If you are receiving DCP's from any cinema exhibitor service company (such as Deluxe, Cinemanext and so on), you simply need ask them to install In:Movie CONNECTOR app on thier equipment, or
- just request our Mini/Micro computer with pre-installed software and connect it to Internet and DCP Player
How it works for visitors:
- The system creates a dynamic page for each show in its database.
- Cinema visitors use the IN:MOVIE app to scan a QR code on the screen, instantly becoming part of the voting process.
- At critical narrative points, the app prompts viewers to make choices, directing the story based on their votes.
